Church History

This Cemetery or Burial Ground was founded about 1933, and we understand it is still open.

According to Derbyshire Record Office's catalogue of Church of England Registers, Tideswell Church's burial register includes interments at Tideswell and Litton Cemeteries for the period 1933-1948. Whether this indicates Litton Cemetery was actually opened in 1933 is not specified; but if Old Maps are to be relied on it was certainly after 1922, as it is not shown on Maps of that date.

There is one Commonwealth War Grave here - that of Lance Corporal Harry Gregory, who died in 1944 aged 34.
