Cemeteries

We believe the Chapel did NOT have a graveyard.

Note: any church within an urban environment may have had its graveyard closed after the Burial Act of 1853. Any new church built after that is unlikely to have had a graveyard at all.

Church History

This Place of Worship was founded in 1862, but we understand it was closed in 1960.

This out-of-the way chapel was one of seven places of worship which once existed for Lybrook residents. It was erected in 1862, and in common with the Primitive Methodist Chapel in Lydbrook, it had a school room added in 1892. After it closed in 1960/1, it was used as a builder's store, but recently, it is believed, it is being converted into flats. Denomination

Now or formerly Primitive Methodist.

If more than one congregation has worshipped here, or its congregation has united with others, in most cases this will record its original dedication.
