Church History

This Cemetery or Burial Ground was founded in 1690, but we understand it was closed before 1893.

This burial ground was given to the society in 1690, in association with the Former Friends Meeting House in Kings Weston Road, for which see the separate entry in this database.

It is a long, narrow, rectangular enclosure, surrounded by a wall with an 18th century gateway at the south west end. In the 1880s it was surrounded by allotments and orchards, but today, it is part of the suburbs of Bristol. It is on the north west corner of the junction of Kings Weston Lane with Broadlands Drive, and next to the modern Lawrence Weston Christian Fellowship Church.

Denomination

Now or formerly a Cemetery (Quaker).

In most cases this will be a record of its original consecration.
