Cemeteries

We believe the Church does NOT have a graveyard.

Note: any church within an urban environment may have had its graveyard closed after the Burial Act of 1853. Any new church built after that is unlikely to have had a graveyard at all.

Church History

We don't know when this Place of Worship was founded, but we understand it is still open.

This is an attractive modern church, named by a plaque on the wall of the building as "Second Church / of / Christ Scientist / Bristol". Next door (on the left), labelled on Google Maps as "Christian Science Society (Bristol)", is a Christian Science Reading Room and Book Shop, whilst and on the right there is a car park, and towards the junction of North View with Northumbria Drive, a petrol station.

The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Bristol was at 80 Stokes Croft; however it was closed in 1972. A second "First" Church was opened in rooms at The Cedars, Badminton Road, Downend, but that too was closed, in 1989.

Denomination

Now or formerly Christian Science.

If more than one congregation has worshipped here, or its congregation has united with others, in most cases this will record its original dedication.
