All Saints Church,
Wells Road (The Wyche), WR14 4PA,
Malvern Wells, Worcestershire.

We believe the Church does NOT have a graveyard.

Note: any church within an urban environment may have had its graveyard closed after the Burial Act of 1853. Any new church built after that is unlikely to have had a graveyard at all.

Church History

This Place of Worship was founded in 1865, and we understand it is still open.

All Saints Church building dates from 1903, but its foundations were laid some 40 years earlier, in 1865, when a mission of the Priory Church in Great Malvern was begun in the Wyche.

All Saints parish was united with that of St Peter's, Malvern Wells in 1987. St Peter's Church closed in 1994, after which All Saints became the parish church for the combined parish, now known as "Malvern Wells & Wyche". And in 2018 they have a combined web presence with St Andrew's Church in Churchdown Road.

The following information about the Church has been provided to accompany the photographs on the right. A list of people who have supplied the information is included in the Acknowledgements, below.

[Image 1] A lancet nave, but a steeply sloping site gave the opportunity for an impressive semi circular apse with vestries etc below. One car parked outside on the road, another in the churchyard itself, and lights on in the vestry. Church locked, no response to my knocking at the vestry door (with peep hole like in hotels) nor my ringing the bell (doorbell, not THE bell!). I walked away a little disgruntled imagining cowering parishioners quaking with fear of who was outside.........[1]

Now or formerly Church of England.

If more than one congregation has worshipped here, or its congregation has united with others, in most cases this will record its original dedication.

This Church is located at OS grid reference SO7719043983. You can see this on various mapping systems. Note all links open in a new window:

I have found many websites of use whilst compiling the information for this database. Here are some which deserve mention as being of special interest for Malvern Wells, and perhaps to Local History and Places of Worship as a whole.

The above links were selected and reviewed at the time I prepared the information, but please be aware their content may vary, or disappear entirely. These factors are outside my control.

Search for other Places of Worship in Worcestershire

Search Tips:

You can specify either a Place, or OS Grid Reference to search for. When you specify a Place, only entries for that place will be returned, with Places of Worship listed in alphabetical order. If you specify a Grid Reference, Places of Worship in the immediate vicinity will be listed, in order of distance from the Grid Reference supplied. The default is to list 10, but you can specify How Many you want to see, up to a maximum of 100.

You can further refine your search by supplying other search terms.

Please note the above provides a search of selected fields in the Worcestershire section of the Places of Worship Database on this site (churchdb.gukutils.org.uk) only. For other counties, or for a full search of the Database, you might like to try the site's Google Custom Search, which includes full webpage content.
