Cemeteries

We believe the Church did NOT have a graveyard.

Note: any church within an urban environment may have had its graveyard closed after the Burial Act of 1853. Any new church built after that is unlikely to have had a graveyard at all.

Church History

We don't know when this Place of Worship was founded, and it has since been demolished, but we don't know when.

Kelly's Directories of 1895 and 1912 record that Christadelphians had a meeting room in Park Road. By 1932, the address given is in Heath Road. It has not been possible to find a precise location for it on Old Maps, but there is a Hall marked on the south-east corner of the junction of Heath Road with Manvers Avenue, so this is one possible location.

Kelly's 1932 Directory also mentions that the Ripley Spiritualist Progressive Church was then situated in Heath Road. Possibly this was the "Mission Room" shown on Old Maps of 1939 a few doors east from the junction of Heath Road with Meadow Road.

Or it could have been the other way round, and it's no longer possible to tell, as both buildings appears to have been either demolished, or converted into residential occupation.

Denomination

Now or formerly Christadelphian.

If more than one congregation has worshipped here, or its congregation has united with others, in most cases this will record its original dedication.
