We believe the Church does NOT have a graveyard.
Note: any church within an urban environment may have had its graveyard closed after the Burial Act of 1853. Any new church built after that is unlikely to have had a graveyard at all.

Church History

This Place of Worship was founded in 1973, and we understand it is still open.

Information available previously on the Churches Together in Dronfield and District website informed us that St Andrew's was opened in 1973 to serve as the worship centre for the Gosforth Valley. Members of the Church of England, Methodist and United Reformed Church are all welcomed, served by one minister, recognised by all three churches.
It is situated on the east side of Pentland Road, opposite its junction with Gardom Close, and next door to St Andrew's Primary School. The buildings are designed in a coordinated fashion, featuring a futuristic design of sweeping horizontal lines, and several pyramidal roofs.
The following notice in The London Gazette of 16th February 1999 (p.0) recorded its registration for marriages:
A Building certified for worship named ST. ANDREWS COMMUNITY CHURCH SB, Pentland Road, Dronfield Woodhouse, Chesterfield, in the registration district of Chesterfield in the Non-Metropolitan County of Derbyshire, was on 27th January 1999, registered for solemnising marriages therein pursuant to section 41 of the Marriage Act 1949 as amended by section 1(1) of the Marriage Acts Amendment Act 1958. Dated 8th February 1999.
I am not sure what "SB" indicates.

Now or formerly Anglican/Methodist/United Reformed (URC).

Search Tips:

You can specify either a Place, or OS Grid Reference to search for. When you specify a Place, only entries for that place will be returned, with Places of Worship listed in alphabetical order.
