We believe the Church does NOT have a graveyard.

Note: any church within an urban environment may have had its graveyard closed after the Burial Act of 1853. Any new church built after that is unlikely to have had a graveyard at all.

Church History

This Place of Worship was founded in 1933, and we understand it is still open.

For many years the Church of St Bartholomew stood in splendid isolation away from the developing village on the lower ground; and to meet the needs of a 19th century population, services were held in the village schoolroom prior to the opening of St Andrew's Church in 1904. The foundations of St John's Church were laid in 1933, when a mission church was built at the far end of the village. This was superseded in turn by St John's Church in 1958.

Though St John's does not have a burial ground, it does have a Garden of Remembrance, on the east side of the church.
