We believe the Church does NOT have a graveyard.

Note: any church within an urban environment may have had its graveyard closed after the Burial Act of 1853. Any new church built after that is unlikely to have had a graveyard at all.

Church History

This Place of Worship was founded after 1950, and we understand it is still open.

This Meeting Room for the Religious Society of Friends looks very like a modern private house from the outside, which is only appropriate, as their first meetings were intended to be in "houses", and not "chapels".

A Google StreetView drive-past of May 2014 shows an entrance approached by a flagstoned path, on either side of which are lawned areas, bordered by shrubs. It has a double doorway set into a wide vestibule, and the only indication of its use is a large notice board on the right side of the doorway, with the heading "Quakers" in red lettering.

The Bristol Quakers website shows a different view, with lettering attached to the brickwork above the doorway reading "Religious / Society of Friends / Quakers", and a different set of notice boards. It also provides information about the foundation a Quaker presence in Bedminster, when in the late 19th century, Friends of Redland Meeting opened an Adult School in Princess Street (Bedminster). A new Meeting House in Wedmore Vale was built in the early 1950s following the area being redeveloped for light industry.

Next door, to the right of the building, is "Jubilee Hall", which appears to be for community use, and so unrelated to the "Friends" building.

Now or formerly Quaker.

If more than one congregation has worshipped here, or its congregation has united with others, in most cases this will record its original dedication.
