Church History This Cemetery or Burial Ground was founded in 1920, and we understand it is still open. Kelly's Directory of 1932 informs us that the Cemetery at Codnor was then of about one acre, and adjoins the churchyard. The lych-gate at the entrance to the cemetery was erected in memory of the men of the parish who gave their lives in the Great War, 1914-1918 at a cost of £600. Derbyshire Record Office hold registers of burials in the Cemetery for the period 1920-1990. It is currently (2013) managed by Amber Valley Borough Council. Denomination Now or formerly a Cemetery. • You can specify entries with ('Yes') or without ('No') photographs.
• You can specify a church or chapel's Dedication, to restrict entries to those containing the term you supply as a dedication. So for instance, 'John' would return 'St John', 'St Mary and St John', 'St John the Divine' &c.
• You can specify a Street address, and likewise 'George' will return George Place, St George's Street, George and Dragon, &c.
• You can restrict the search to classes of Denomination. The exact denomination is always shown in the results, although the search is for broad types. Thus you can search for 'Methodist', but not 'Wesleyan Methodist' or 'Primitive Methodist'. 'Multi-denominational' includes Ecumenical Partnerships, and 'Miscellaneous' means anything not covered by other broad classes.
